If Haaland’s condition for signing is indeed Pep signing a contract extension it would not be a surprise. It suggests Haaland is a smart cookie as he wants to win stuff and he knows that wherever Pep goes he will be a winner.

I missed it, if you send us a link i'll comment. Without reading it the signing of the decade will have a lot of moving parts and everyone involved wants to make sure they get it just right for their interested bodies so everyone wants assurances

If it’s not guarantees around Pep or similar, and is related to brand Haaland, that’s probably that. The way Pep spoke about Torres, if a player shows a hint of wanting to leave, get them out the door. The same will apply to incomings, you either want to be here or you don’t. Contract negotiations are one thing but we won’t put up with any nonsense requests.

Double dampener if we don’t get Haaland because Pep isn’t extending. Not sure what else it would be that we can’t ‘guarantee’ but will be interesting to see how it plays out.

With the involvement of Riaola, I would imagine a get out release clause will be insisted on, I think he wanted one when Chelsea put in a bid last summer.

IF it's the case, I hope we politely say no and if Haaland is not happy with the answer, we as a club move on to the next target.

We have already seen however good this guy is and he is exceptional, he already comes with a huge baggage and entourage.

Don't need a buy out clause. You simply say you want to leave and the contract is ripped up.
