It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

The idea that we'd sell Sterling to Chelsea for 35m is the kind of bollocks you'd expect from the Spanish press.

Di Marzio really fell off.
Can easily be an initial fee in region of £35mil with easily achievable add ons to take it to circa £50mil, which is what I expect the Jesus fee to end up being about.

We'd absolutely need to sign a new winger if Sterling goes. The Gabby money is supposedly going towards Cucurella so we need to get as much as we can for Raz to put towards a new winger.

I dunno where people are getting the confidence Palmer can step in and replace what Sterling offers us. The lad has played like 12 games for us and is nowhere near ready for a role that big.

He need to sign a fast winger. Losing Jesus and Sterling means we don’t have as much pace on the flanks , limiting our ability to stretch the play. I’d say we need someone like Leao or Raphinha with a bit of pace.

I know he's a United fan channel but Goldbridge Aka Brent called this awhile back he actually gets some decent info

Either way we are paying him regardless and I’d rather have someone playing who wants to be here. I’ve zero issue with the club benching him for a season if needs be to send a message to clubs around the world and players that we won’t be mugged off. The likes of Real, Barça etc won’t want players benched they are interested in, we have had an offer on the table for Sterling for a season now (allegedly) so it’s pretty clear he’s no intention of signing it and it running the clock down. I’m all for players leaving if they want, but on our terms and at the right price! It’s not as if we’ve left it last minute.
Totally agree...its the only leverage we have...I find it amazing that many of the same people saying we get fleeced when selling, which is a total myth, are OK with a top player in his prime leaving on a free...of course this doesn't apply to DS, Kun, Kompany, or now Dinho as the circumstances are completely different...it would set a terrible precedent and I can't see how its good for business...I'll use Rudiger as an example...Chelsea let him run his contract down with the belief that maybe he'll stay or at least he'll help us this season...well he's gone, Chelsea won fuck all, and got nothing in return...Sterling is a valuable asset at this moment so there are three options IMO...he re signs now, he moves now, or he's made to understand that if he doesn't renew or agree to go then he can expect a whole lot of bench time...him purposely running down his contract is a fuck you to the club no matter how you spin it...my loyalties and interests are with City, not with the interests of any single player if its detrimental to the club...so if his plan is to fuck us next Summer I'm perfectly OK with City fucking him first by leveraging his playing time...
