I don't think anyone should expect a quiet decade of his stay. The noises were the known unknowns. The Portuguese striker constantly made comments about Perez during his long Real Madrid days. Messi used City every two years for his contract situations while he stayed there. I would expect similar. Now, this is the Twitter age. The noises will be louder.

Think Tolmie has confirmed there is a release clause. If it was bollox I assume City would have put Simon Stone and Ducker straight as they know these guys very well.
Nothing has changed since yesterday though.

Asked around a bit myself, and you're right, the 'buyout' is much higher than is being reported (closer to €200m). Bayern were given a €100m option, hence why they're so bitter and the source of the 'leak'.

Surely a buy out clause can only be activated if the player agrees to leave.
If a player wants to stay that's great, a new contract can be negotiated. If a player wants to leave he'll be allowed with our blessing as always.
I really don't think it's the issue people are making it.

There are also other things tied up in it for it to be triggered apparently. Club not hitting targets for example.

Confirmed that it was a condition for an agreement with any club at some point, but hasn't confirmed with sources that City's agreement with Haaland kept that clause? Or has he? Maybe I missed it. I really don't see how anyone can know what is in City's agreement unless it is leaked by City or Haaland's camp. Don't see why either would do that. No interest in denying either. Who cares?

Pep ha stated today that he will NOT consider any form of extension until the end of his current contract which ends next year.
This clause matter has become so fucking boring...the guy hasn't even trained one day with us and people are speculating, some panicking, about some unconfirmed buyout clause 3 or 4 years down the road...taking all the joy out of landing one of the World's marquee young stars at a position of need no less...I'll apologize in advance as I know its a free speech forum but I'll be periodically telling people who keep banging on about this to fuck off...
