I think the silence from the journalists ITK at City tells us everything we need to know in regards to this supposed Chelsea interest. If this was true I'm sure City would have confirmed by now that the ship has sailed on this deal.

It’s not like we have a bad relationship with them.

My guess is the original €8m asking price was never real. The real price was probably always €20m.

Otherwise someone would have taken him IMO. €8m always seemed really low.

We do desperately need to sure up the left-back position, but I think the club is right to play it cool. We have Cancelo and Ake who can cover there. Laporte too when he's back.

Our squad is quite thin generally this season, but maybe that will keep the 'fringe' players a bit happier?
