Why does that matter? If the cover is a player who comes for 2 years, scores and assists, cost £14 million and we sell for £80 million, what's the issue? He can have different cover every year if we use loans, old players who want to join the coaching team after final year playing, or promoting youth players.But then we back to looking for that elusive cover for Haaland.
It does if we are constantly looking for replacement as the next squad striker wants to leave through lack of time. I would rather first and foremost get the most out of the rest of the players to start chipping more regularly. For all sane posters that read this thread, I’d like to make it known that I wasn’t suggesting we brought a 46 year old Otamendi back!Otamendi for the short term is not the worse of suggestions if we want cover.
