There is space in the squad for Paqueta, as we can all assume Cancelo won't be here.
After that, it is one in one out. If Palmer goes on loan, it is still one in one out as he doesn't take up a space. So for a winger to come in and replace him if he goes on loan, someone else has to leave. Probably Perrone or Laporte. On top of that, we still have to find a move for Zack Steffen regardless.

I think if we were to sign say Paqueta and Mitoma that Palmer and McAtee would have to both go loans or sales. The one we probably end up keeping is Gomez because no apparent interest and also versatile. Perrone I’m not sure about, a loan to Girona was touted a while ago but not sure how solid that link was.
Cancelo and Laporte will be off.
Steffan probably gets a last minute loan deal you’d think. Somewhere like Leicester I could imagine.
It’s called rotation. Like if RW is covered by Foden and Bernado. Also players of that quality are versatile enough to play multiple positions. Do you really think we will only ever have 1 left winger because we have Jack Grealish?

Laporte is an interesting one. Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up staying. Perrone I think certainly off if Paqueta signs. Losing Palmer or McAtee does not reduce the numbers, but reduces the bodies.

Amazed that Laporte is not in serious demand, I think he will take a loan rather than sit on the bench, he is better than that.
Maybe the news of Barca's dodgy media deal today may mean both Cancelo and Laporte move there, loans with buy options maybe our best and only option.
Contract is the issue, lot's of talk of an extension but nothing done.
I get the opinion he would walk all the way down the A1 to join us.
