I don't think Spurs will sell Toby for £40m. First reason is they might feel they could convince him to sign a contract by next summer. Secondly £17m isn't very much for them to lose possibly the best CB in the league. He could be the difference between them winning and losing the title for £17m.
You keep saying 40%...Obviously 40% on top of £25m is £35m, but if you're saying a percentage does that mean there could be movement on the fee? So if they pay £30m now, they get £42m later, or if they pay £20m now, only £28m later?
