It's Quiet - a new dawn

This market started off so promisingly.

First Bernardo Silva and Ederson. Both look like excellent strengthening of the squad. All good.

The last three to four weeks has been exceedingly frustrating and the feeling seems to be that we are hitting the buffers.

It seems that the Dani Alves signing which looked to be over the line and just a formality. Now PSG appear as a possible, even probable destination. There is little news coming out on this.

The Benny Mendy saga seems to be going on and on with no real grasp as to how currently the negotiations stand. How far apart are we on price with Monaco? When was the last City bid rejected and what are Monaco seeking.

The situations regarding Bertrand and Walker appear confused re where negotiations stand in terms of bid(s) and the responses.

The Alexis Sanchez saga looks like it is going to end without a satisfactory conclusion as Arsenal appear to be adamant in keeping him to seeing his contract out. Have we lodged an offer for him. If so what was it?

Hang on a minute I will just give Txixi a call to get the answers! How do you expect anyone to know the answers to those questions?

Transfers are highly complex we are talking millions of pounds which is why every club is still trying to get signings over the line. The high profile signings are always harder especially if it involves English clubs selling to English clubs. I personally just see this type of forum as entertainment and come the 1st September we will have a much stronger squad than it was at the end of May.

What sort of nonsense is that?
Oh dear

Have to say I feel the same. Quite rightly secrecy is involved so we can only speculate, in fact our guesses seem to extend to who our targets are never mind how far we are with negotiations to get that player(s).
This thread and even the player named ones are difficult to verify even at club interest level so the jigsaw will hopefully be complete when the fantasy football of pre season games finishes and the real matches start.

Well thanks for the response. I know the negotiations can be complex. Most are nowadays what with wage demands, image rights and agent interferences and a host of other things.

Nonetheless, it is increasingly clear that there is a possible massive gap in the perception of City supporters as to what is known about our approaches to clubs and what the response has been and the reality of the situation as it exists.

It isn't clear to me as to whether we have made a bid for Alexis Sanchez. If so, what was the amount?

Ditto Walker, ditto Bertrand.

Why does it need to be made clear to you that we made a bid and the amount of that bid? Are you financing the deal?

This kind of expectation is completely unrealistic and serves only to frustrate yourself. How many of the deals that we did complete have you know the ins and outs of? Did you know that we had multiple bids for Kun turned down and the exact amounts beforehand? I'm guessing not. We also managed to complete that deal without you personally being informed of the process. Just wait and take what you read with a pinch of salt, even the salt will be better for your blood pressure than all the flapping :)

Your 2nd sentence is funny. What do you want City to do, keep you informed of every move and development?
