It's Quiet - a new dawn

Let's not be getting ahead of ourselves here. Assuming we have indeed agreed terms, Mbappe is almost certainly still talking to Real as well and if they match his personal terms too then it's not just a case of agreeing a fee with Monaco. We also have to convince Mbappe to come to us instead of Real. I'd say that's the most difficult bit.

I am not getting ahead of myself. I said IF he has agreed to come. That is a huge IF and nobody knows if he has.

I am still convinced that Mangala would be an excellent option for us, Pep should be able to improve him and he should have a key part to play.

Not all players can be improved no matter who the coach is players have a finite amount of talent and don't think Mangala has the passing ability or football intelligence Pep wants. No matter how good a coach nobody would expect him to turn Fernando into a player like Toure.

Denayer doesn't want to play for city anymore, that seems pretty clear to me. Our plan for him was the loan to Girona and he rejected it and then ran his mouth in the press about it. Totally fair enough but that says I'm not interested anymore I don't want to be here.

The Mangler would get absolutely slaughtered in the Premier League and would absolutely shoot holes in our whole system. He had great games before, and he had shit games before, but now we play a system were everyone has to be comfortable on the ball so that we can pass through a press. If we put this lad back in, opposition teams know that all they have to do is mark the two closest players and he'll revert to bambi on ice. Having him in the side just increases the pressure and reduces the oppositions of the rest of our defensive unit.

I like him, his attitude is first class and with his attributes I can 100% see why we paid as high as we did, but it didn't work before and I don't see why it would now in a more technical system.

I think we should just pay Inigo Martinez release clause and be done with it. He covers left back and centre half, is left footed, is comfortable on the ball and does those diagonal passes pep likes. Height wise he's not ideal at all, but we'll still have added considerably to the average height of the defence this summer so not such a deal breaker. Takes a mean free kick too.

Never seen him play. How good is he defensively, is he strong and how quick is he?

I was actually just about to say how I felt like we are going to keep Mangala. I think he can be better than Stones (don't ridicule me tell me why I am wrong) and I think that Pep can really improve him as a player. Mangala had a PHENOMENAL season last year, go ask any Valencia fan and they will tell you that he was their best player. I think that he provides us a great option when we want to play a more physical style or come up against a more physical side i.e United, when he played alongside Vinney he pocketed both Ibra (PSG) and Diego Costa.
