I don't see a suitable left back amongst them either tbh. Angelino appears to be just too lightweight as fullback so would have to be left wingback if he played & it looks like Pep has already got Sane lined up for that job should it become necessary.

But imo Danilo plus Sane covering Mendy, is better than Kolarov covering Mendy & a million times better than Kolarov covering Clichy.

I'm not sure how adequate Clichy and Kilroy would have been if we'd played them both at LB !

Sane as a wingback won't work mate IMO. But Mendy and Danilo is a massive up grade on Clichy/Kolarov, absolutely.

If Sane is playing wing back then we need a very good, mobile defender on the left hand side of the back 3 because Sane will inevitably push well forward. I wouldnt want Otamendi as that left sided cb.

Sane played wingback a few times. Chelsea, Southampton and few other games. He was phenomenal. Those around him weren't. But he can definitely fill that roll if needed to tactically.

Sane is definitely best on the last defender, but I'm sure he could fill any role down that left short-term. I think by the time Aguero leaves im a season or two Sane will be considered pretty much the best player at the club. He's "the next" Bale in my book.

Yep I'm definitely in agreement there. I said it after the Arsenal game, that lad has ballon d'or winner written all over him.

He'll never win it as long as he keeps going missing from November to March mate. He's done it every year so far. Let's hope the competition in the squad allows us to keep him a bit fresher and motivated this year.

He has the potential for sure, I do think he has the odd lapse that will never leave his game though. Misplaced passes aren't uncommon for KdB and it can put the team under pressure at times. His productivity is phenomenal though, we really do have a talented squad to pick from.
