It is wonderful how with football we can all see the same thing so utterly differently. I look at the balance of our squad and just think, if we sign VVD, we win the league this season, if we don't we are completely at the mercy of a Kompany injury. So many look at the same squad and think that we are crying out for another attacker and we are fine at the back. Fucking loons.

I agree with your concerns regarding Kompany. However, after getting rid of Balotelli Dzeko and Jovetic, we were left with Serge, Bony and Kelechi, followed by Serge Nolito and Kelechi, prior to getting GJ.

Kelechi was largely unproven, or not given enough of a prolonged spell in the team. We essentially were going into a couple of seasons (for me) with 2.5 strikers. Not enough in my opinion.

I would have thought that our most obvious weakness is defensive mid.

We have quality cover if anyone else is out for 3/4 weeks, but not Fern.

Totally agree with this opinion. I'm not bothered by another striker, in fact I think it could bring its own problems with keeping players happy. Of one of the main two are injured we either go with one up front, like much of last season, or use Sterling or De Bruyne just off the striker. But a Vinny injury will cause us problems.

Buy a centre half OR keep Vinny fit and I think we will win the league easily.

What we need is a left footed centre back who can also play left back as cover for Mendy. We essentially need an upgrade on Kolarov. And a versatile forward.

I've felt for a long time that we'll end the summer with Aubameyang if we fail to sign Mbappe or Sanchez. There really aren't any other top quality forward players that could be acquired for a fee less than £100m. He fits the bill perfectly, but there is a major concern over his age given how reliant he is on being able to break the defensive line with his pace.
