I think we seriously need some pace and power in cdm as well. Yaya and dinho, who I love, are both past their best and gundogan a. isn't a ball winner and b. Is made of glass.
 
I'm starting to think this thread is the jinx thread. Every window it opens and links us with proper big names, Sanchez, hazard, pogba, Sanchez, mbappe, there have been others. Then we get all excited and as the window progresses we get further and further away from these players.

It doesn't smack of forward thinking, unless of course we have centre back (s) already lined up for next summer to replace Otamendi or worst case Kompany then of course getting an experienced 4th choice for this season looks like it is forward planning. I have no idea whether we have or we haven't, then again none of us do.

This is the most important position on the pitch and we haven't updated it. Having pace on the flanks to come inside and help out will improve things but it's still going to be a weakness when we get overloaded/bypassed in this area on the quick counter attack.
Actually I'm not sure that one player acting as a DM in the PL with the general pace of the oppodition works full stop.
