It's Quiet - a new dawn

I think we played it perfectly with the timing of the first bid. We know he wants to leave now, and £50m is not a bid we expected to be accepted at all. Arsenal have to sleep on it , uncomfortably, knowing that their best option now is to sell and a new offer is coming, Sanchez is miles and miles away so they can't be in his ear and likely he's already said his piece to them - I want to go to City, I'm off to Chile now for a few days at a closed camp so you may not be able to reach me Arsene. If they bid tell my agent so I can get a medical and contract sorted.

They should be more concerned with who they bring in, I can not see us giving them a forward in return at all so they should be looking around or they'll have a huge backlash come Friday morning.

Imagine Arsenal said £70m, we'll suggest meeting in the middle then top it up to £65m to get it done. Everything says tomorrow for me, though if Sanchez is taking 24 hours off from international duty from this morning then hopefully sooner.

why you say deez hurtful tings

You say we've sorted defence but I'm not sure we have. Still need a left back and we need another top cb (not Evans.) we also only have two proper strikers and two 30+ cms in Yaya and dinho. Bernardo is an exciting signing no doubt but I'm not sure we've done all we needed to in overhauling the squad
Mendy is our lb. Danilo will cover rb & lb not ideal at lb but can do a temporary job. CM is next summers project. Evans will also do an adequate job.

With possibly 3 out and 3 in surely at least one of those will get done today...... or tomorrow will be barmy.

3 in???

Surely its just Sanchez and Evans in....I took TH's post about (no, there is another - good empire strikes back reference btw) as i tongue in cheek reference to Evans (being the another)

If we can get delph, and bony gone (permanently) then we have had an al around amazing summer........the icing on the cake(for me) would have been a world class centre half but that looks like it will have to wait till next summer

Yes could be read that way too only THD knows I guess.

Why won't people realize that we could have the best center half in the world but with our attacking formation and high line our defence will always be suspectable to teams creating chances against us no matter who we sign.

Thanks that's exactly what I have been trying to think how to put.

I wish people would realise that teams don't create chances against us!

We've got the quietest defence in the league - we face the fewest shots of anyone. The problem we had last year was not the amount of opportunities, it was individual errors made by players not capable of playing in the system - or in Bravo's case bizarrely out of form.

The addition of Mendy, Walker, Danilo has made our backline suitable to playing high, and as a result we'll see even fewer chances on our goal, and fewer goals conceded.
