It's Quiet - a new dawn

If anyone is replacing Aguero it is Jesus and even at that, Jesus is flexible. People aren't seeing the bigger picture, Pep clearly prefers flexibility within his squad.

I agree.

I personally think Pep is looking at Sanchez because he wants an experienced almost guaranteed 15-20 goal a season player who can play on the wing, just as Sanchez has done for the most part this season with Arsenal.

Whilst Sane and Sterling are promising players, I think he wants someone who is at least reliable in one of those positions to help with the goals.

I think some fans would be happy if we still had Hart, Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero in 2022. Love them all and they are club legends. Probably fair to say 2 PL, 2 League Cups and an FA Cup in 7 seasons (under 3 managers) is an underachievement given their talent (never thought I would say that). All great stories have an ending. We need a total reboot and some new stories

Vinny, Silva and Aguero still have a few years at the top level.

Yaya and Hart don't though and it's time to move on, same with Zabaleta.

Bit harsh that, he was a hugely talented young player, but he really exploded under Pep's management.

Maybe he would have anyway, maybe not to the same extent, but i'm sure Messi would say Guardiola had a big impact on his career.

I'd definitely agree with that.

So if it's aguero who wants to go then fair enough not a problem, but if he's being pushed out the door then that's a different matter altogether,my main problem is if and when he goes who will be the marquee signing to replace him and they better be an upgrade and hit the ground running cause if they aren't and don't then it falls at the managers door simple as..

I still don't think the decision to keep Yaya was wrong but the failure to find an adequate replacement was. Maybe letting him go would have financed such a deal; we'll never know but I think we are now at the point where Yaya should be retained.

Kun is easier to replace, imo, than Yaya was: I think there are more options at this moment.

Agreed, in that Yaya's skills set is a more rare one to me; I can't honestly recall easily many other players who have all is attributes in his prime. All round maybe its best to sell players whilst they are still around their peak, just before they start to decline, and whilst you can still get max dollar for them. That could be the thinking with Sergio - I think it would be had to argue, for any player, that if you'd had them at your club between the ages of say, 24 - 29, you haven't had their best years. An absolute club legend, always will be.

Well that's me being conservative, my actual confidence in Jesus has a higher ceiling than Aguero ever had. Mark me down here, call me out if I'm wrong, throw stones at me but Jesus will take Aguero's role with ease and if you supplement that with a proven player in Sanchez and if rumours run true and Mbappe comes in ( I don't think he will ) then you add the most prolific forward this season. You take Aguero's goals and all you need from Sanchez and Jesus is say, 17 a season each. That will be done.

I agree with you on GJ...i think he is a huge star in the making so much that hanging onto him could prove a problem in the future...one of the big two will come knocking at some point (Barca. Madrid) - but thats another story.

Why supplement GJ with Sanchez when we already have Kun (who is more proven) and who scores more?......team play....well Kun has stepped up hugely.....and if its because Kun wont get the games he wants are you telling me Sanchez is going to come here and sit on the bench and be happy?

And like you say....I don't think we will get Mbappe either...he will either stay put or at some point get his move to madrid....he has Real madrid written all over him that lad and I do wonder if he fits into our/Peps style of play....happy to be wrong on that as I aint seen that much of him.

We'll agree to disagree mate. I think he's been playing well.

yeah maybe I'm being harsh a tad....he aint shit and I rate him highly but he is well short of top level and has been all season baring the od glimpse here and there....but he aint a patch on silva and that is where he has failed......

It would be interesting to see what would happen if icky was fit.....KDB would have real competition then as well....
