Pretty much, he's bigger and faster, a much better defender. Attack wise he's not as good as Kolarov at his best but I always felt we didn't see kolarovs best all that often post-Mancini.

How often have you seen him play? The 3/4 games I've seen he's looked pretty quick in a straight line but has the turning circle of a fucking double decker and the footballing intelligence of one as well. Maybe if I saw him more I'd change my opinion but I just don't get it, even on a free I just think what's the point, we may as well resign Tony Vaughan.

I'd prefer him to Walker, he's an incredibly technically skilled footballer for a full back from the little I've seen and no slouch when it comes to pace, very similar to the two at Madrid, who set the bar at the moment for the position. He's a project but one that's well worth the risk imo.

I'm a bit lukewarm on him, Danilo was the better of the two at Porto and hasn't looked the same at Madrid + anyone looks good in defence at Juve. Definite improvement on what we have but there must be better options out there than him, especially at the prices quoted. For my money Bernat is the better player and would cost half as much.

The problem is if Vk is fit and Bonucci signs. Then you have 2 ridiculously expensive CBs on the bench in Ota and Stones.

If Bonucci signs, he wouldn't beat out Its or Stones in a fair competition.

Straight swaps don't really happen, especially not like that. I'd say if we get Sandro (or another top LB like say Bernat/Grimaldo) we won't be in on Gaya.

Also I think the VVD ship has sailed and he's off to the Chavs. Haven't heard anything to the contrary from @tolmie's hairdoo or otherwise.

Not sure we'd sign Tielemans for DM. He did play a few games there this season but it's not his natural position, think more Spanish Dave, and he would probably find it tough in the PL. Similarly, Fabinho seems unlikely here, but I'd be surprised if we didn't get at least one Monaco player this summer and, if we're in on Sandro, it won't be Mendy.
