I've had a soft spot for Barkley going back a few years so I've watched him more than I normally would've watched and Everton player. Technically he's good enough to play for us. He has the raw attributes to be a top CM. We need at least two CM's. If Pep is in for him I'm fully behind it and can see why.

As an aside. Txik & Pep have followed Barkley's career since he was 16 according to a journalist who knows them both.

Is it just me who thinks William Carvalho is absolutely bang average? In fact, I'd go as far to say that he's a worse option than Fernando, and would hinder us rather than improve us.

Yeah I'll third that. I'll be staggered if we sign him. He's slow and wank. The new Fernando.

Carvalho is a good player. But not good enough for us, he would stand out at a midtable club. He is a better passer than Fernando, I'll give him that but he is not the standard of player that we need. It's easy to look at him and say "yeah he'd be perfect to add some steel to our midfield" but Fabinho, for example, does that and so much more.

Papers think he's coming here because he changed agent from Mendes to Pere but I think that's lazy journalism.
