Is 8 signings too many? I reckon 6 first team players will come in, max.

We have 11 either out of contract or, already out on loan and unlikely to return, so 2 or 3 more wouldn't be that surprising, Delph, Fernando and Nolito would take us to 14.For all those people claiming we are getting shut of up to 12-14 people, remember what Pep said ... "no chance, in one window" !!

Nothing against your post in particular but it is an example of a lot of posts on this thread. You have 7 overseas players coming in and only 6 current overseas CL squad players leaving. (Navas, Sagna, Zab, Fernando, Nolito & Bravo.) We currently have one excess overseas CL player in Gundogan excluding all those on loan. So we need to lose at least one more overseas player than we bring in excluding those already on loan. Personally I think talk of 7-8 incoming players unless some are youngsters for loaning or not using in the CL s fanciful. My summer prediction:
Hart - £20m
Nasri - £15m
Bony - £15m
Mangala - £15m
Bravo - £10m
Nolito - £10m
Fernando - £8
Zabaleta - Free
Sagna - Free
Clichy - Free
Navas - free
OUT = £93million
IN:
Fabinho - £35m
Henrichs - £17m
Sessesgon - £10m
Mendy - £25m
Ederson - £40m
Rudiger - £30m
Dahoud - £10m
Isco - £25m
Roberts - return
Denayer - return
TOTAL - £212m
NET: £119m
From everything I have heard so far, on this thread and elsewhere, this would be my best estimate. I think Pep wants to trim his squad, add a few versatile players to replace the outgoing (not so) specialists. Reckon Dahoud and Alexis will go to Dortmund and Juve respectively, I don't see Bonucci leaving Juve any time soon either really. Rose would be too expensive and £30m for Grimaldo would be a big risk for someone with only 10 top flight appearances (in Portugal I might add). In addition, Sead Kolasinac doesn't seem keen - plus I don't think he's all that personally, seems like a younger Kolarov.
IN:
Ederson Moraes £25m
Fabinho £25m
Antonio Rüdiger £25m
Faouzi Ghoulam £15m
Isco £20m
Kingsley Coman £40m
OUT:
Claudio Bravo (LOAN)
Joe Hart
Bacary Sagna
Pablo Zabaleta
Vincent Kompany
Eliaquim Mangala
Gaël Clichy
Fernando
Fabian Delph
Yaya Touré
Samir Nasri
Jesus Navas
Nolito
Wilfried Bony
Kelechi Iheanacho (LOAN)
GK: Willy Caballero, Angus Gunn, Ederson Moraes
DF: Fabinho, Faouzi Ghoulam, Aleksandar Kolarov, Pablo Maffeo, Nicolás Otamendi, Antonio Rüdiger, John Stones, Angeliño Tasende
MF: Kevin De Bruyne, Brahim Díaz, Fernandinho, Aleix Garcia, Ilkay Gündogan, Isco, Aaron Mooy, David Silva
FW: Sergio Agüero, Kingsley Coman, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sané, Raheem Sterling

I still believe 11 to 14 will be too big a push in one go.Case of watch this space with Pep.He's hardly going to say we are and by doing so de-value half of the players he wants rid of.
What is it that is so unrealistic about that prediction? I really don't see us making more than 6 signings. All of those players have been heavily linked and seem to fit what Pep wants.Very apt that location of yours.... not a prayer

15 players out and 6 in, thats what is unrealistic, not including players who we won't be signing...
Out of interest, were they just formations to fit the purchases or do you think we'll line up as such???
The starting front 3 next year will be sterling, Jesus and sane.. make of that what you will!
There is absolutely no chance Isco goes for €10mil, no chance
Tolmie is the son of Ted Rodgers. Im convinced of that.....Love this thread, thanks @tolmie's hairdoo always look forward to the impossibly cryptic tenuous Ted Rodgers level 321 video clues - also love the anticipated meltdown we will get by page 1,500 in May when we haven't put a bid in for Kyle Walker or something!
BOGOF ?I still believe 11 to 14 will be too big a push in one go.Case of watch this space with Pep.
I really don't see it. We have 6 out of contract and i expect us to bring in 6, even if we lose Fernando, Kompany and Delph. Delph and Kompany really don't count coz they never really got in rotation due to injury and Fernando was barely used. Those that were on loan don't count either. Core wise we are losing 3 fullbacks. We most likely will get 3 fullbacks to replace them or 2 plus Maffeo.I think we will go for it.
We have 6 players out of contract, all of whom will go in my opinion, add in the likes of Vinny, Delph and Fernando and also the dead wood like Bony and Nasri and you have to think we will need around 8 signings.
That's excluding the rumours of Aguero and Otamendi potentially leaving.
