It's Quiet - a new dawn

fair comment mate...but I think we could include "potential" in this as well...Until Pep feels there is long term "potential" to be world class, we will keep buying 22-23years olds from around the world and keep getting good offers from other teams for our academy players...

i think potential is the key mate, as you say. look at spurs with kane, alli and winks. i wouldn't say any of them looked world class before breaking into the spurs team and i wouldn't class them as world class. i honestly think players like sancho and foden have similar potential. they just need enough games and chances to develop. id make the squad smaller and full of top class players and give the youth more games.

How many of those 3 were playing Premier League football at the the age of Foden, Sanchez etc?

Bravo seems to be a serious waste of a foreign spot.
Would be glad to see Otto replaced by a better defender, like Laporte or D.Sanchez.
Guess Kolarov will stay, though offloading him and bringing in Berchiche or Bertrand would be ideal for me. Also would free 1 more spot.

Kolarov has been solid this season and can cover both LB and CB. Saves us finding a buyer and a potentially costly replacement. That can wait till next summer.

Bravo, you're right, but he also might be tricky to shift and we'd be selling at his lowest value. If the club are cool with that then fair dos, ship him off and promote Gunn. The latter can be insurance nonetheless.

Nico has been great, that teams like Madrid may be interested speaks volumes. I wouldn't rush to replace him, especially with the current state of our CBs, unless there was some serious coin and we were confident of bringing in an experienced replacement (like, say, Bonucci)

I'm looking at peoples predicted teams for next season and Im shocked by how many are glossing over the centre backs.

Kompany is finished done.

Otamendi is a headless(I think pep likes him though)

Stones good enough? Not sure.

I think it's vital we sign at least 2 CB's or I can see same season.

The last 10 games say Kompany may not yet be done. He's no age for a centre back if his injury worries are in the past.

I'm glad you share the same opinion as me. Without Kompany we look very suspect at the back. Kompany makes who ever plays next look like maldini. Don't think Laporte is the answer either.

Otamendi has massively improved this season. Even without Kompany, he stood out must admit stones and otamendi doesn't fill me with confidence
