It's Quiet - a new dawn

We don't need to bluff about Sanchez.

I agree, though it's clear Arsenal are going to expect him to force his way out and make himself the villain, so I see some arguing that this could be a bluff to encourage him to do that. I don't think it is though.

Here's what I've heard from a reliable source almost a month ago: Sanchez is the top priority, but we have a (unnamed) backup in case Arsenal simply don't sell. That could be Auba, but it's way too early to be looking at plan B, so I doubt it.

Seems a very strange move if true. Sanchez and Mbappe have FAR more versatility. He's a great goal scorer, but unless Sanchez is now a no-go, I don't really understand going for Auba over Alexis. Unless we want both and Auba is essentially Aguero's replacement.

Interesting, so that was posted back in April. So if you knew something he was obviously being considered when we were also considering Sanchez.

I think Auba is the alternative to Mbappe personally.

Does beg the question who gives way if we get Sanchez and Auba, I can just about see room for 1, 2 would suggest somebody isn't playing much next year.

Unless we are forcing someone else's hand?

Unless Aguero leaves, it strikes me as strange that we are aiming to sign two forwards this window.

I guess it's understandable that we would pursue Mbappe as there's a strong chance that we would miss out on a potential world class player if we do not. But Aubameyang is 28 years old and is known for being inconsistent in front of goal.

Please yes.

We have weird fans.
Yes, instead of Sanchez, or Mbappe though if it's Sanchez they aren't the same sort of player, if it was Mbappe then replacing Aguero with a 28 year old instead of an 18 year old doesnt make much sense. In fact if we could get Mbappe I think we'd prefer next summer anyway.
Either way it doesnt seem to make a lot of sense so thats why it'd be more no than yes for me.

Sanchez and van dijk is more understandable than signing two strikers. Mbappe might be understandable due to his potential, but I do worry about our centre backs.

I didn't state that, but I guess I implied it when I questioned whether Auba is Aguero's replacement. Are you saying Mbappe IS no longer an option? Or just hypothesising?
Aubameyang has always been a target but you can never put all your eggs in one basket, when a special talent like Mbappe comes along we'd be mad not to put the feelers out, something's obviously happened over the weekend for us to make the move now.

He is not inconsistent. He constantly misses chances, game by game.
