Agree with all of this apart from Echeverri, Surely we can't afford to let him go on loan if McAtee, Grealish and Savinho all depart.
We are leaving ourselves very light at the top end of the pitch.
Don't particularly want Sav to go as I think he has a much higher ceiling than Doku but if he were to leave then Echeverri staying and getting game time would more than make up for it.

Not really. We managed to get £95m for Sterling and Jesus - they have both gone on to do nothing.
We got £30m for Zinchenko. We got £80m+ for Alvarez. We regularly get decent fees for our kids.
The problem this year is we've left it too long and have to shift multiple players. Some should have gone last summer instead

I don't really understand why people keep banging on about Kovacic though - as you've rightly pointed out he's not ready until Oct, even Stretford wouldn't sign him to sit there injured for 3 months!!!
Why would Pep care about signings for the future? Right now he's gone in 2 years, yes he loves the club but he wants to win now. Kova,Gundo,Bernardo even with age are proven winners. Same with the defence. The signings that have immediately played are plug and play players not youngsters.
Marmoush,Reijnders , Ait Nouri they are finished products. Not potential. Gibbs White we wanted 25 year old finished product. Young players need time , older players have the experience and are at their peak now.
So Peps a winner. He wants to win as much as he can. Finished product / older players give you a better chance.

That's true, but there must also be joy in polishing gems, especially to one obsessed by football. I cannot imagine a world in which Pep looks at Cherki and Echeverri and isn't utterly enthused.

Oh definitely I think a Pep that thinks he'll continue in football or at the club would find joy in that. But if this is his last contract, then he will want to win everything. Plug and play players in their prime give you more of a chance than projects.

Yes I've swung back full 360 and ALL the Uncs (sorry) should stay and give it 1 last push before contracts run down. They deserve it. Pep deserves it. If they stay fit (hearted by friendly) and have this reported underdog mentality then fuk it let's give it another shot.
Sav obviously isn't deemed as deserving another shot and im going to back the gaffer on this one. We all love a Brazilian but they have to fight

I hope not. Always seems to be a bit of a MOTD player to me. Some great touches, some nice bits of skill but for the most part, flatters to deceive. Would I rather have him over Gundo this season? Yes. Is that a glowing endorsement at this point of Gundos career? Probably not.

I'm not sure why anyone would prefer a worse player with "potential" ahead of a better but older one who gives us a better chance to win trophies in the season ahead of us.

So what youre saying is hes leaving us in the shit? A rebuild needs to happen now. If pep is not interested in rebuilding then its time to move on.
If we get 60 million for Savinho then yet again we will have spent very little (net) this transfer window and makes me think we must have something planned.
No way i'd be send Echeverri anywhere, i really think he needs to stay with the squad and will get plenty of minutes to develop. From what i've seen of him i really rate him that highly.
