Question: if a player signs a pre-contract in January to move the following window does that tend to become public knowledge or not?

Not necessarily a Messi question though that is a possibility

Adding Koulibaly to the team, does that mean we have to get rid of a foreign player?

I thought about the clubs tactics:

We were fast as hell in the opening days, adding both Ferran and Aké to the team. Maybe the plan all along was to only add a replacement for Sané and two centrebacks?
It seems Gundogan is not going anywhere and Pep said we won’t buy another midfielder so Auoar is not happening. Maybe Koulibaly is the last signing of the window?

The club must know by now (after Jorginho) what a pain in the ass ADL and Napoli are, so they saved the hardest signing for last and it doesn’t matter if this negotiation goes down to the very last days.

If we manage to sign Koulibaly and the window shuts a minute later, we would have all of the players we need for a successful campaign. Yes... Stones, Otamendi, Garcia and Zinchenko would still be here, but they would not play anyway.

I felt a bit like ’wtf, we have players we need to sell’ but if we only have time to buy Koulibaly and do nothing else in the window, I’d still be happy about that.

Im sure Txiki et al would never let impatience cloud their commercial acumen.

The "just pay it" brigade would never be in their position.

Yes, we would all like our transfers completed as soon as possible in the window, but life isn't that simple sometimes.

Thw window is still open, so there is still plenty of time, albeit not ideal.
Plus, regardless of whatever was said in media and on here, we got preoccupied with the potential signing of Messi and without a doubt it would have impacted in some way what the rest of our window looked like.

Agree Koulibaly is the big one.

So as a club we can only do one deal at a time not multiple’s?

I think Otamendi will go and be replaced by KK.

If others leave, and I'm not sure they will, they will be replaced too.

Our outgoings always happen at the end of the window, as teams know we will take it up the ass when the pressure is on. Consequently, we have to wait until wait to know who is leaving that can be replaced within the squad - can’t just leave Nico and Zin out of our 17 foreign spots, won’t happen.

Yep, it would appear that way.

Although, of course, you know exactly what I mean but are being awkward for awkward’s sake.

As a club of our size one transfer no matter how big will not stop us looking at other signings I really don’t think that those doing the deals say right drop everything we putting all our energy in the Messi Deal.
