Something big could be numerous things?

If its trasnfer related then it could be referring to a player:

Harvetz - Unlikely as chelsea look to have him tied up and would we seriously go to 90m?
Martinez? - it would be a serious statement to steel him from under the noses of Barca- not everyones cup of tea however
Haaland? - a year too early? Would we go for him
Dembele from Barca as a replacement for Sane?

It couldnt be any of the big 4 players (Messi Ronaldo or Neymar or MBappe - I say big four in terms of transfer costs, profile etc)

However - does it relate to more who we would be buying a player off - ie a direct rival - A red scouse player, Bayern player (now that would seriously piss B. munich off). Remember the statement signing of Tevez - wasnt that he was just a very good player but it was about WHO we bought him off

Or could it be a new sponsor/financial deal that will have the Merseyside lot and the hateful 8 boiling in piss for ever and a day?

Hopefully its not Kane - just think his injuries are a major issue as well as I just dont think he is that good

Aouar has gone very quiet after so much chatter the other month.

The French season has finished a while but the transfer window is still shut so I could see there being no real rush on that one. However I really think we need another player in midfield, Gundogan isn’t really a replacement for Silva and Phil seems to be playing further forward for the moment and Bernardo has barely played there this season.

hope its Havertz myself but no chance City pay 90m for either him or Joa Felix.

If this is big then City have been working on something for a while which takes any top draw English Premier League player out of the question imo we would know or some Journo would although it could be someone going down

Its foreign so I would think either of the below, I just can't see Messi being this person either whoever it is will be in the wage bracket of KDB & Sterling new contract as City will not rock the boat.

I can see it being Martinez rather than Sancho with Pep's previous comments about him.

I don't think Martinez is a big secret operation. Turn up with €110m for the clause or piss off. He wont be too fussy with wages considering hes got no commercial weight and is probably on peanuts at Inter.

If something is going on behind the scenes in secret I would learn towards thinking theres a big negotiation between clubs or someone on mega wages that need to be worked out.
