But logically, if I wanted to buy a player who could buy himself out of his contract for £20 & the player wanted to play for me, there’s no reason why I would offer more than the market value, which would clearly be £20.

Hopefully it’s that simple mate.

I get back very rarely actually - its a 6 hour drive one way. ill be back around Xmas possibly (not sure if we are home or away over xmas period so may try and time it If i do) for that.......the likely hood of seeing us or him play in person for me is very little living in Cornwall unless we draw someone like Exeter or Bristol City in a cup game (and them Im guessing Messi may not play anyway!!!!!)...or maybe a trip to Wembley - its actually quicker for me to get there (slightly)
