You see out academy kids are never ready while we wouldn't hesitate to spend on kids from other teams. I am telling you Pep would rather play Bernardo or sterling as false 9 or play no striker than give chance to academy striker even it's for few minutes. People here will. Justify he is not ready paper thin physically not ready
Phil Foden says 'Fuck You'.

Is it me or do those stats look make it look as if we do not have a stand out CB would assume Laporte would be miles better also looks like Ake is not great and finally how come supposedly weak Stones wins the arial duels
I thought the same. Laporte's purely defensive stats didn't look great. However his through balls out of defence and passing stats were great. Part of the art of defending isn't captured by those stats.

I would expect a player like Otamendi to win more duels because they relish the physical side of the game. Much of defending is about position and shepherding forwards out of dangerous areas and stats don't pick that up.

Last season laporte wasn't great full-stop. That has to be admitted but of course he was recovering from injury for most of it.

City originally thought Aguero could be fit for Real Madrid - 27 July 2020.

Now, it's 50/50 if he makes the bench vs. Wolves, 21 September 2020.

He is 2 full months behind the recovery they thought he would have, and this meniscus injury which is supposed to put you out for 4-6 weeks has now seen him out for more than 12.

As we get into the last 3 weeks of the transfer window, that's the position that is making me worry. If he's in and out of the side with a bad knee, this season is far too condensed for Jesus to be the only striker.
This bothers me as well. There are players who develop chronic problems because of lack of cartilage. I think Micah was badly affected by this. It's an unknown.

I think it was about a year ago that people said Aguero is now pain-free and we will see a better player. I forget when exactly this was but it didn't last.

im just sat here amazed that whats left of our star players if indeed we have any dont all want to leave now were in such disarray manager that useless,DOF wont sanction another 5 million during a pandemic,a chairman that wont spend to balance the stadium up just look how stupid it looks

but what do i know

Indeed, what do you know.

Honestly all you melodramatic flappers are absolutely ruining this place.

Carabou cup surely? The thing I’ve never quite understood with Pep (and his thinking is stratospherically different to most people, I know) is why he doesn’t put a couple of young lads on, now and again, when we are 5 up with 10-15 minutes left? It’s almost always Aguero off, Silva/Sterling off and KDB off, with Mahrez, Jesus, Gundogan, Foden or Rodri on and sometimes for 5 minutes. That’s when the ‘boys’ might be worth giving a go, I’d have thought.

It used to be claimed it was both 'too risky' & that it would upset senior players (both bollocks).

Playing Garcia week in week out, in the most risky position bar goalkeeper, has put those arguments to bed.

It's by choice & imo wrong.

Still have to believe that we have 2-3 big signings left to conclude. Khaldoon was so sure in his interview that there will be more additions.

If that's the case, we're keeping our interests in other positions bloody quiet or its gonna cost us an arm and a leg given seasons have already started. There have been no rumours for any other positions other than CB, which is concerning.

Khaldoon could have meant only Zack Steffen and another centreback, Koulibaly or whoever.

I doubt anyone else is coming but if there were, I’d say a leftback is the most likely position we add to. Aké is needed in central defence and should not be considered our new leftback. If he was, we would only have two high quality options at centreback (Koulibaly if he joins, and Laporte).

We’ve seen Angelino go, and hopefully Zinchenko soon. That’d give us Mendy as our only ’real’ leftback. I hope we can add Tagliafico to this position. Great leftback and I think his price is quite low. I am surprised no club bought him this window. Maybe he’s been earmarked for us?

People saying that negotiating for Messi, would not interfere with other transfers, because it involves 'different money' are deluded in that respect, I think.

It won't interfere with signing a cb or fullback, but it will interfere re strikers, attacking players & maybe even def mids, purely regarding squad balance & places.
