Far too early to start flappingAs it stands we haven’t brought anyone in and lost two players. Neither played staring roles so may not be seen as a loss, we can’t rely on no striker again and we certainly can’t rely on rivals having really poor seasons. United have improved and looking to more and Liverpool won’t be as inconsistent as last year with VVD returning also. It’s accepted throughout chelsea have a better manager now too. We was able to claw back from our awful start last season due to signing Dias (into the season which is where my points going) being incredibly consistent with others faltering. The league will be won by a decent amount more points than we won it last year I reckon. Been burnt before not improving on title winning squads that’s why I’m very hopeful we start getting the signings in.
I don’t carry cash ;-) can’t wait for the season to start, had a few beers in town with some off here, back in the mood.I may have to pop a Mickey Finn in your drink so you're grasp on your wallet is looser; )
I am not talking about directly from the club, as in an official statement. Why would you expect to hear more from the club, what are you wanting them to say exactly?
But what if we’re playing Leicester on August 7th?City will not sign any player for the first team before the Leicester game on 9th of August. This is coming from the very top.
Then we will leak to press we have too little time to complete big transfers in only 3 weeks time and we sign no one. :(
I will say,and its just opinion....Think they will finish above the dippers and spuds though.

I would've expected to hear more noise from the Jack Gaughan's, Sam Lee's, and other Journo's close to the club, with respect to movement.
By Sam's own admission in his latest piece, the news is there is no news. It seems very very quiet
Modern journalism:
“Jack Grealish and Harry Kane might be signing for City or they might stay where they are. We really don’t know any more than you do, but here are some words with some intrusive online advertising attached to help me reach my daily word count and ‘audience engagement’ targets”
You cant ignore the PSG and Dortmund games when they had a direct effect on the heavily rotated team selections for all but one of those gamesI know I may get shouted down but here goes...
It seems many are enamoured over our performance last season, perhaps lulled into a false sense of security, assume based on getting to champions league final and our final league position/ points versus our rivals, perhaps nonchalant in belief of our perceived superiority over our rivals.
Omitting the champions league results vs PSG, Dortmund and Chelsea we lost 4 times of 8 games at end of last season from 10th April
Our opponents were very poor last season, they will be much better this season, especially Chelsea and Liverpool
- Saturday 29th May City v Chelsea - LOST 0v1
- Tuesday 18th May Brighton v City LOST 2v3
- Saturday 8th May City v Chelsea - LOST 1v2
- Saturday 17th April Chelsea v City - LOST 1v0
- Saturday 10th April City v Leeds - LOST 1v2
If you dissect the season we started very poorly, then strung a remarkable run of games together, we ought to be hugely greatful to Gundogan who won us the league imho.
We lost to Chelsea 3 times, only got 1 point vs the rags and I don't believe we played anywhere near our best football, I'd go as far as to say the Everton match aside we never really hit top gear at the end of the season and looked very laboured and slow with our positional play and build up.
If we don't get the right signings and approach the start of the season with the correct attitude we may not get the chance to recover from a slow start this season. that is even more critical when we consider our tough away fixtures versus direct opponents, slow/ no pre-season and the possible loss of KDB for majority of those head-head matches.
I am perhaps a pessimist but I think it would be naive to think our rivals wont be much stronger next season, I hope we're up for the fight and get back to back titles
Why would our rivals be much stronger but not us. Considering they have to improve far more than we do. It’s possible but would be unexpected. Do you think they’ll all improve and we’ll go backwards.I know I may get shouted down but here goes...
