I was just thinking that the weekend that it'd be nice for Aguero to be some lower table's Anelka, e.g. imagine Aguero at Brighton or a promoted team. If I was an aging football star that's what I'd do - try to create a fairytale ending by raising a club up a level.

No time for him being at Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, etc. That'd be like Falcoa at united.

To raiola and dortmund ?

Lol

No, I believe that it’s a wider message, I think city are kicking off the narrative of ‘galactico style money’ will not work any more.

I think there is also a view from within the club that there needs to be a bit more responsibility in times when people are losing lives, jobs, homes and pensions due to the pandemic.

Almost seems like a responsible response to current events - trying to draw a line by saying no more increase on this merry-go round.

If others follow suit it works, but it only need one club to break rank and go for it and it will fail.

Again though city are taking the right stance IMO.

I think even for a generational talent we wouldn’t go over the 100 million mark - there’s a psychological barrier set by the club I think. If we don’t get them then fine, we will carry on hoping to unearth our own.

Harlaand for 90 million yeah I see that happening but not the figures being bandied about currently with an additional 40 for intermediate parties.

Certainly hope he doesn't go to any ofthose clubs quoted.

The good news was that however that Falcao was shite and the rags paid a fortuine in loan fee if I remember correctly.

Oh, I thought you were being sarcastic because I know there are some people who would believe that this was released to send a message to them.

No, the timing helps for that but I really do think it’s being used as a wider statement - that figure could have been a lot lower with some accounting finesse but it’s being used to set a tone IMO

I like Sander Berge. Really good player. Was shocked he moved to SU. Suspect that there's some truth in the story as it's come out of a Belgian paper who have close links to his former club Genk, who would get a cut if a future fee.

I've got a call with UEFA's former head of anti-corruption tomorrow. He's a Belgian guy who is now an agent/intermediary. I'll ask him if he's heard about the Berge thing and see what he says.

I remember mentioning him on here (8 October 2017).

Really impressed by the Norway midfielder, Sander Berge. He's only 19 and in his first season with Genk.

Strong on the ball, good passing range, reads the play well and has a bit of class about him.

Got something about him. He could certainly do better than SUFC.

Sander Berge, great player and vastly underrated, would surprise a few in a decent side

However

He still sounds like he belongs on a sodding dulux colour chart
