This ^^^^^. We are more likely to see Pep create a replacement DM from someone who presently plays further forward. Much like City did with Fern. We have tried with Rodri and despite the criticism he’s not been an abject failure but we need someone better for the big games where Rodri‘s lack of pace (and reading of situation) can get exposed.
Agree 100%, I made that exact same suggestion months ago, that we might do a Ferna again and look to convert a more box to box type player such as, for example, Tielemans, into a DM rather than sign a technically limited but specialist destroyer. Might also explain Tolmie’s report today of an interest in Ward-Prowse

24 years old last month.123 starts plus 72 as sub and 82 goals. All at the top level. Those sort of strikers grow on trees
Agree no way we sell Jesus for 40m...Ollie Watkins went for 33m!! I don’t want him to go but if he does it will be nearly double that I reckon.

You have not factored in Daniel Levy - if you thnk we getting Kane for less than 150 million?

Jesus - 40 million? Ake - 30 million? - 80m cash?

I wont be far off.
You mean the Daniel Levy who's sold every single player that big clubs have come in for?

Daniel Levy who's riddled Spurs with debt?

The man is a fucking myth. With maybe the exception of Bale, he's never once sold a player for way above the buying club's valuation.

And when you look back and seen what Madrid got out of bale and the trophies he helped them win £89mil I’d say Madrid come out the better end of the deal than Spurs did.

Every top player he’s sold that wanted to move on never once has anyone looked back after 5 seasons and thought fuck me they got stung by Levy there. Modric, Bale + Walker have all been worth every penny and more to the buying clubs.

He’ll sell, he has too. It’s all a merry dance to appease the fans over the next week or so. Kane will be playing for us come the first game of the season. And boy what a good time were going to have watching him!

Rodwell is free

Is someone offering out brown envelopes to people in order to hire this guy?

He doesn't seem likeable, he's never fit, clearly didn't give a fuck about contributing to the other clubs he was at and was never very good in the first place.

Something really, really weird about his career.

There is a lot of his type in football, managers included.

It happens in football... Rodwell showed a bit of promise at Everton - but as per usual the local press pack get told to big them up - how many wonder kids have Everton had over the last 20 years and how many have gone on to anything special? Not too many - Rooney is the exception that proves the rule. We will never know if there was a player in there - with Rodwell because his career was blighted by injuries... I don't know the guy and maybe he's done okay financially but i bet he'd sacrifice some of what he's earned for a decent run in a decent side, it must have been tough to see pretty much your whole career pass you by like that. .

Levy will sit tight until the last day of the transfer window and he will move the goalposts several times in a negotiation. i am staggered people think he wont just hold firm for his biggest asset and maximise value. Time will tell if i am correct or not - but i still stick with what i said at the start Ake (or someone else of a similar ilk) , Jesus and 70/80 million. It will be much closer to that than £100m.
