Doubt we would see anything like that. Cancelo cannot play left back against anybody decent, zinchenko is better. Rodri can't play on his own against anybody decent, Fernandinho is still better. Foden has barely featured centrally, gundogan is better. Sterling hasn't played on the right with any regularity for 4 years. Mahrez is better.

This idea that Rodri plays on his own is ridiculous. Same as Fernandinho. They've both always been massively supported by fullbacks coming inside or a midfielder dropping deep. It might be a 1 on paper but it's a 2 in practice.

In fact, BOTH players have suffered from times where they were isolated since Pep arrived. Chelsea in the FA cup (Fernandinho) and Chelsea in the league (Rodri) are recent examples of this.

And this won't go down well, but of the two Rodri handled himself better, barring one admittedly bad moment.

Best bit was I had money on City to win 3-1 that game, won a few hundred quid thanks to Corradi, always remember it.

I wouldn't be surprised if part of the specific interest in Grealish and Kane was due to them being English.

Having a lot of prominent England players in the team is probably a dream come true for the marketing department.

I’ve noticed united have moved more in that direction as well. I wonder if the clubs know something we don’t about possible future changes to squad quotas, especially post-Brexit?
