Hi all. Have used a classic iPod for years and years, but it became filled a couple of years back, and have never really used it since. Like most, I now use my smartphone (Samsung) to listen to music on the go, and in the car anyway.

I still have Tunes on my laptop for keeping my music collection (mainly uploaded CD's of my own, as opposed to downloads.) but now looking for an alternative compatible with android, and one preferably with the option of a cloud to back them up in too?

Any recommendations?

I use the free version of Castbox and also TuneIn radio app.

www.tunin.com

I listen to a lot of US live radio/TV news through TuneIn using a VPN to trick the app into thinking I'm in the USA.

As an aside: You can get your music backed up (useful) and playable from anywhere onto Youtube Music - The interface is crap though - And ensure you have "Album Artist" & "Artist" set correctly - It's a nightmare interface to rebuild if you've got the data wrong. And the data download from Youtube Music (if your HD goes bang), is also pretty crap unless you've got the data right in the beginning

I use foobar2000, for ripping, and transfer to an iphone albeit on IoS, as I hate Itunes, and want to use native Flac.

Transfer to the iphone is a bit clunky, it uses an ftp client, but I would guess the Android version will be easier.

For the cloud storage, I use one drive, part of the MS365 family package.

I tend to stream in the car using Qobuz Hi res these days for newer material
