I dont see this as a positive signing for City

Is Bolt available?

He wants a new BMW 5 series and 20 McNuggets a day - can we afford him?

Manchester City are on the brink of signing Inter Milan defender Ivan Cordoba.
Having fallen out with Inter manager Jose Mourinho, the 33-year-old centre half was offered to a number of clubs but it is believed that the Colombia international favours a move to City.
Sportsmail revealed last week that new City boss Roberto Mancini was keen on bringing Cordoba to Eastlands to shore up his defence.

Cordoba played under Mancini at the San Siro two years ago but has subsequently dropped down the pecking order under Mourinho.
Last week Mancini admitted that he would love to sign Cordoba but seemed to suggest it would be too difficult.
The City boss said: 'Sadly, I think he is too tied to Inter.' But it is now apparent that City are at least trying to do a deal as Mancini endeavours to bring in cover for a defence beset by injuries and loss of form.

City actually kept a clean sheet in beating Stoke at Eastlands on Saturday, their first in the league since November 1.
However, Mancini is currently without injured pair Wayne Bridge and Joleon Lescott and will lose captain Kolo Toure to the Africa Cup of Nations after this evening's visit to Wolves.
City did think that Toure would head to Angola for the tournament yesterday but have successfully negotiated with the Ivory Coast international's national association to enable the defender to leave two days later.
Meanwhile, Mancini is adamant that Brazilian forward Robinho will stay at City until the summer at least.
Barcelona have been chasing Robinho but Mancini said: 'The important thing for me is that Robinho stays here because he can earn a place in the history of the club. I think Robinho played a good game against Stoke as they are a strong, physical side and it is not the kind of game Robinho would have preferred.
'But for me he can improve every game. I don't know him very well and he doesn't know me.
'Robinho is a great player and I want him to stay with us.'

Re: Ivan Cordoba

I have never seen this guy have a bad game for Inter, even now at 33 he is strong, fast and reads the game well. Just what we need IMO get him signed!!

Re: Ivan Cordoba

This would be a good signing IMO - Mancini would be firefighting a little bit, but I suspect the longer term plans for the likes of Chiellini may have to wait until the Summer?

We desperately need a quality centre half, and despite his age, Cordoba certainly fits the bill in the short term!

Says there we're ready to offer him a THREE YEAR contract.... He's 33 years old, that can't be right? Two years at a stretch (unless Mancini plans to get him into the backroom staff)!
