The bulb holder might be corroded. The bulb might be corroded. The switch might be dodgy. The earth might be dodgy. The wire might be broken.

A long length of wire will help you test the wire by bypassing it.

I despair!!!!!!!!! Bulbs? Bulbs? bulbs are what you plant in the garden! They are called LAMPS Wire? Wire? It's called cable!!!!!!!!!
