One day, Sid McGrath was playing with his friends in the playground of Aston Villa Primary School. “We dare you to go into the big school playground and take the piss out of them!” declared one of the boys. “No, surely I’ll get a beating?” Said Sid. “Nah, because you are a fan of another club there are some prefects who automatically afford you the status of the footballing equivalent of Homer, Aristotle or maybe even Nietzsche. No matter how much you take the piss, they’ll defend you.” Sid looked quizzically at his friends. Were they setting him up for a fall?
Curiosity got the better of Sid, and whilst his friends sniggered Sid set off into the Manchester City playground. He spouted a pile of nonsense about Manchester City and how much better Aston Villa were. He mocked them, and many of the boys in the playground started to become irritated. Apart from some of the boys who all wore badges saying “Milk Monitor”. They listened in wonderment to Sid. “Stop bullying Sid!” they said to the other boys. Soon Sid was welcomed into the bosom of the Milk Monitors in the playground. “Take a seat here Sid.” Said stonerblue, pushing happy out of the way desperately seeking Sid’s approval. “This seat has a name on it, FCBarca, who is that?” Sid asked? “Don’t worry about it” laughed stonerblue. And they all enjoyed lashings and lashings of ginger beer.
