Jack Grealish

Strikes me as a complete ponce. Yes he can clearly play but it's all about look at him rather than look at the team. The way he has his hair, his undersize shorts and his inability to put his socks on correctly tell you everything you need to know. Add in his stupidity away from football then it's clear to see he's a glove fit for United.
Least he's a homegrown ponce :-)

From everything I've read so far it looks like: Striker, Cm/Dm (Dinho replacement) and a Left-back are the targets/priorities.

Grealish doesn't fit any of those categories. So i'm unsure we are even looking at Grealish. Unless we are looking at another forward/attacking midfielder on top of those 3 targets.
Whilst a good LB would be wonderful,,how do you fit Laporte or Ake in the team ? thats 100m on the bench..both can play left back..suspect Pep may look at those possibilities and go for a DM to replace Fern and new striker

Some sense in that.

Yeah, let's keep that trend of putting unnatural left backs in the squad going. I don't mind using them as backup, but FFS your #1 left back shouldn't be Zinchenko, Cancelo, Ake, or Laporte. And no it shouldn't be Benjamin Mendy either!

I don’t think we’ve done that badly doing exactly that over the past 3.5 years ;)

That’s very true - but it’s still the weakest position we have in the team....and if we want to win more this is the key position to fill in the summer. Who that is I haven’t got a clue TBH, but there’s got to be some decent attacking left back somewhere in the world

I don't think it's the weakest position by far. Up front is still our weakest position, wide and central. That should be our first priority IMO.

I wouldn't say Ake is an unnatural left back?

He started his career as a left back/wing back. Only moved to centre back by Bournemouth during his first loan spell and then reverted back to left back when he went back to Chelsea. Although he didn't play much for them as they had Alonso, he actually did have a couple of really good games. Then when he moved to Bournemouth on a full transfer, they reverted him back to centre back. But he was also deployed at left back there too at times. He also played for Holland at Left back recently too, in the Nations league.

... I personally thought he had a brilliant game against Newcastle at left back, made us even stronger defensively.

I'll concede that the term unnatural maybe isn't a good one when he is concerned. We aren't talking about sliding Lescott over there obviously. Ake is athletic enough and a very good defender overall, but he is not dynamic enough to provide enough offensively in matches where we need to break other clubs down.

He is a great utility player, can even play DM, but again he is not and should not be first option over there for a champions league level club.

I think he's an exceptional talent but it would be a case of finding a place for him and whether he would unbalance us at all, on and off the pitch

Think is is a top quality player with the potential to be world class. You would be mad not to go for him in the summer, English, 2 footed, skillful, strong and has an excellent turn of pace. His vision and ability to execute a pass is up there with anyone.

Suppose it depends on if you see his best position as Fodens best position too (im not sure as he seems to be at ease wherever he plays).

From my point of view, he would easily replace Sterling

Zinchenko fits the inverted full back roll perfectly in pep 3.0. As for Grealish there's only Foden near his level. I know his hair and socks are a put off for some but does he have a full back tattoo off himself scoring a nothing goal?

I like the idea of him replacing Mahrez.

Foden or Grealish on the left, Torres or Sterling on the right.

And then the difficult decision of who Haaland replaces.

Oh such make-believe worries.
The problem we have is how do you keep Ake and Laporte happy. Dias and Stones seem to be the number one pairing, sure injuries will come in. At LB we have Mendy,Zin, and Ake, Laporte can both cover there. Cant see us getting a LB unless players leave. Think, Fern replacement and Striker will be main priorities.Would love Grealish or Aouar, but Grealish usually left midfield,Aouar, right midfield and neither DM's.Upfront Haaland Jovic or Daka.

Not sure what everyone else thinks but ake could be made into an outstanding cdm, he has a lot of fernas qualities including leadership and influence.
