With the possibility of Falcao and Cavani both going to other teams. Perhaps we should consider Jackson Martinez (Colombia) of Porto. He could definitely be a good option for striker and wouldn't be as expensive as some others. 33 goals in 38 matches for Porto. For anyone who says it's Portuguese League, remember where Falcao came from.

Soriano and Txiki will all ready have their targets and backups, he may be one and he may not be.

How about we wait and see rather than making a thread for every player that crosses our mind :)

Certainly worth a gamble if we don't sign Cavani and there are other potential stars to be unearthed so it might not be bad news.

Just because Falcao was a success it doesn't mean Martinez will be.

He does look talented though, quick, strong, good in the air and a fine finisher.
Probably end up at Atletico Madrid when Falcao leaves.

so basically if we have lost out on falcao/cavani we have missed out on our first choices YET again, surely we cant do what we did last year!

If another club comes in and outbids us, or more rather places a worse bid but the player wants to join them instead of us because the other club is more famous, what alternative do we have? There's no trick in football whereby you can give yourself the exclusive right to sign a specific player.

well, if that does happen, at least we can have a decent back up option.

Maybe would be a good back up, but need to bring in a more high profile striker.
but he might turn out to be very good and we can get him for 20 million rather than wait for the rest of the world to take up to it and have to shell out 40/50 million like with Cavani. We should be looking at players like this, the Cavani/Falcao's of tomorrow :)

For every Cavani of tomorrow there is a Jo. We are not at the phase in our rebuilding to allow that to happen.
