Made his debut today and Burton fans thought he was absolutely excellent, which is encouraging.

He has looked great for the EDS when I have watched him. Hopefully Pep gives him some minutes in the pre season

Argh. If I'm being honest, it depends which Jacob it is. If he reaches the levels he was for our u18s two years ago he was absolutely quality, and it'd be him. But recently maybe Smith. Matt Smith is much more box to box than Davenport and a little more physical too. Taller. Davenport's stalled a bit recently, but he's been in defence loads out of position, plus injuries. Bit crazy that he'll get more chances to play his usual role for a championship club than our EDS! ha.

I think Smith offers more going forward, but Davenport's much more of a leader defensively. They'll both have good careers in the game as they're exceptionally hard-working and dependable.

It’s great to see. I’d love it if more of our youngsters going out smashing it on loan and getting in the first team.

I think there is at least 10 young lads out on loan. If we send anymore out we won’t have a team!

It’s more that when they’re on loan they do really well on loan and come back and do well,if given a chance, with the first team.
