Any religion that has a downer on wanking can go fuck itself.
No. In the ITV interview he says he isn't. He also says he has no quarrel with those that are, citing the biblical texts 'let him without sin cast the first stone and 'judge not that ye be not judged'. Don't doubt his sincerity at all but not sure about his version of Catholic teaching tbh - I'm not of that persuasion myself though. He also said he specifically supports its legal basis despite that being contrary to his religious belief that marriage is a sacrament and a matter for the Church.A simple Yes or No George
Is Mogg in favour of Gay Marriage?
Your characterisation of Rees Mogg, and those who think like him, as bewildered innocents in an alien culture is a foolish caricature and I'm genuinely sad to read that 'respecting tradition and living a moral, upstanding life' is anathema to your 'values'.Sadly many share Mogg's views and they see the rise of social liberalism as a threat to their way of life. It is an inherent small c conservative value to respect tradition and live a moral and upstanding life and they see some tenets of modern day liberalism as being contrary to their values of family, church and country. Whether we like it or not England in particular is a small c Conservative nation where patriotism is valued and love of Queen and country is an expected norm. It comes from our history and deferential respect of the establishment and it is from this deference that the little Englander mentality has arose. They see our nation as a village in the Cotswolds not as an inner City smorgasbord of looser morality, race and culture. For somebody like Mogg the shock of seeing all that he thought was true due to his sheltered upbringing being a falsehood must confuse the fuck out of him. He will genuinely wonder why people do not doff their caps to the well to do and he will find it astonishing that families from Harpurhey do not have nannies. I am loathe to blame him for his upbringing as I am loathe to blame myself for mine. I inhabit a different world to him and I think many on here do, what I don't understand is why people who have grown up in our world wish to be led by somebody from his. That makes no sense to me as his views are anathema to everything I hold dear.

Massive deflection of the argument.I dont agree with his views on Gay marriage nor abortion but i respect his right to his religion as i do for everyone.
Plenty of other religions share the views of the catholic church.
Maybe we should insist on all politicians being agnostics from now on?

Has anyone told Phil Collins?I hear he's ambivalent on the sister shagging in Genesis.
