So does this mean he'll stay with us for this season? Or are City likely to try to move him on now with the way he's acted?

It's all such a shame because if he would have been respectful through the process I'm sure he would have gone on tour like Brahim and Foden and got his chance to impress.

Actually one of the conditions of going on the tour was him signing the record breaking contract that City had offered, so even if respectful he wouldn't have been there.

Fair enough. Yeah he's definitely got people in his ear if he'd turn down those wages at 17. How do you think City will handle his situation this year if he stays as these latest reports say?

Do you know this to be true?
I'm not doubting your integrity btw.
But I know that you follow the Academy teams closely and I put this possibility forward about twenty pages ago in this thread. I don't even live in England these days and it just seemed like it was a possible scenario. I'm not particularly an admirer of Sancho's football but I'd do exactly what he's done if I was given an ultimatum. And if true it raises more questions about some of the people in authority at City. Should it be the case, it's the wrong way to deal with people, especially juveniles.

I await the frothing ranters.

As far as i know, yes it is true. It had been dragging on for months and I don't blame City's stance on it. Pep's always said he only wants to work with footballers who want to be here, and why should some random kid fly out to America with the first team if he isn't willing to sign what would have been a record breaking contract for a kid of his age? (30k a week...madness)

You can throw the juvenile thing around, but that tag is kinda lost a little when youre about to earn 30k a week and you want to be treated like an adult and play immediate first team football i guess.

I also agree with the club, joining the senior players is a privilege if he isn't committed to us why should he go? What's the latest with Sancho? Is there anyway back for him?

Sorry, but sign this contract or you're not going on tour is just not right. No way to negotiate about anything.
The amount of the contract is irrelevant. Would his actions be OK if it were for a grand a week?

So I am not commuting to the club but want to come on tour to put myself in the shop window is acceptable?

If he believes that he is the same bracket as Dembele and Mbappe then 30k might not be enough given some of the new inflated salaries flying around....

There are a load of circumstances that lead up to that point tbf. Wasn't like City said it five days before. Months of negotiations.
