He's got this thing ... his body position is so deceptive. From that repeated deceptive neutral posture he casually flicks the ball bendy, hard, left, right, up, down. Can't read it coming. Foden kinda does this, too. Its deadly if he can perfect it.

Looking forward to the season long saga of "the lad needs to play" "ffs pep get mcatee on" "drop foden/grealish/kdb and give mcatee a run". Think folk should be wise to Peps ways by now, expect to see very little of this lad next season, a few cup games and sub appearances when the games done will be the long and short of it

I think whilst what you say is correct, until we know who has left and who is still there.
The squad size could be thin and in case of injuries, he may play more then planned.
The kids clearly talented and has a pathway, but we would be foolish to do any different to Foden. At some point Foden is going to light up the whole league and part of that is the way we have managed his minutes.

Played 25 games sounds good, but he had 2 starts in the Premier league and was subbed off in one of them, 1 start in the champs league subbed again, it will probably be the same kind of thing with mcatee,Palmer played 25 games last season.
I’d love to see McAtee get that many. He’s going to have a very different set of challenges to get over coming in from the championship vs. coming in from the academy.

That’s fine.
He got about a dozen good substitute appearances - proper game time not 1 or 2 minute time wasters - and 7 starts.
That’s good enough as a baseline - remember Palmer wasn’t playing particularly well.
If McAtee takes off I’m sure he’ll play more.
