I reckon we should pay between 15 to 20 million, and if we did sign him, what position would he play. I agree we should be buying good young English talent rather than buying unknowns from europe, what does anyone else think is the maximum we should pay.

In a good 4-5-1 i think you need 3 main midfielder as a holding/defensive midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder and a creative/attacking midfielder. He's a very hard working box-to-box type player for me and can even fill in the wings or attacking role in a 4-4-2 which add to his versatility.

I think Spurs would be expected to pay around £20m, so we have the added City tax which takes it upto around £25m, which when you considor Barcelona just signed David Villa for £34m, it really puts things into perspective how insane prices for english players are in this country.

Aston Villa aren't 300 million euroes in debt though and dont need to sell players

haha dream on mate. Millner will become the most expensive english player after the world cup. I say he will go for atleast 35 million. And there will be only one team willing to pay that

lmfao, more expensive then shrek.... never,

20 max in an inflated market, although if this homegrown rule hadnt been introduced he wudnt even be a target, apparently before villa game player analysis was done on him for the team and he was shown up big time as an average player. very strange transfer here.

Is he better than any of the players in our squad, IMO yes he is, he is young Englaish, a full england international and understands the prem league. I would sign him and it doesn't matter how much it costs.

Well we definately wont get him for 15 million, seeing as we've already bid 20 million. In all honesty we'll pay what we deem fit, there will be a maximum to our bid, and I wouldn't be suprised if we ended up paying 30 million, not saying that is good value just how business is these days (for us anyway). On a side note he'd be great at City imo, I said it on a previous thread he'll become a fans favourite in no time at all.

Correct on every point you make imo. Pointless people saying we should pay 15-20 million, quite clearly Villa will be looking for 30ish and if the club want him they'll have to pay it, whether we like it or not. And I am certain that he is a better player than many blues are currently giving him credit for.
