It was horrific and I am torn regarding this. A part of me thinks everyone deserves a second chance, especially when the crime committed at such a young age but then I ask myself 'if it was my family' would I want them to be locked up for life and yes, I would. I would want them to suffer for the rest of their lives.

There is growing speculation that the killer of Jamie Bulger has just been sent down for 15 years in Ireland. The person is the same age, comes from Liverpool, and was in Ireland from 2001 when both killers were released. Apparently there is a remarkable resemblence between the young Thompson and the killer in Ireland. The Garda have denied it but the British press are not allowed to name Thompsons new identity or where he lives.
