Japan to start commercial whaling again.

As if they ever stopped.

At least they're being honest about it, rather than that hypocritical 'scientific' whaling. Perhaps if it has to stand on its own feet as an industry, they'll find out that nobody actually wants to buy the stuff. Apparently they can't even sell the stuff they catch at the moment, so it just ends up in storage.
 
Well. All I can say is I hope it was a decision embraced by their entire ruling political party. Not like electing a single coal-shilling, frack-plugging Human Dorito as your president to derail your country's entire environmental platform for the next decade and pull the plug on any conservation efforts. And then remove you from any international treaties on global reform so you look like the laughing stock of the f-ing world....

Because put it into that context, the whaling decision doesn't look as embarrassing.
