Don't see why people are wanting to play him at right back... He's a centre back, we have Maffeo who is far better at right back so why not play them both in their correct positions?

He looks very good at RB

My concern with Maffeo is he can't even get a start at Girona, so I doubt he'd start with us.

And Harry Kane couldn't get a start in the Championship with Leicester 2 years ago, and Ross Barkley couldn't get a game for Leeds.

By now people should know that young players on loan starting games is decided by much more than their actual ability.

Denayer is probably a bit below where he needs to be aerially, but it's not much different to Otamendi who has a good leap on him but is easily bullied off the ball & constantly allows players to get in headers in the danger area.
The big difference is that Denayer is 3 yards quicker, stays on his feet & is a diffrrent class as a footballer. Denayer, like Otamendi, is a threat in the oppo penalty area.

He will be 'good enough' in the air when he gets a bit older imo. And as a fullback or def mid, his aerial ability would be better than most.

Which is utterly wrong imo. He should be well & truly 'tested' by now. Another player we could have been using. Hopefully he is getting coached in the Pep style over there.

And he was way ahead of people such as Tosin & Humphries or Garcia for example, in development & looked like possibly the best defender amongst the young players. Gone on holiday.
