I hope he start every game for Belguim as CB, then hopefully he will save us from spending +40 Million on another CB.

My question re Denayer would be purely down to.whether he has the right physical attributes to leg it up & down the wing every week, if he plays at fullback. Could that be the cause of his injuries ? He could be like Micah in that regard.
Otherwise, if that isn't a problem for him, I think he would have been a huge asset there this season & can be next if required. He also looks a natural for a back 3.

He started in a friendly for a team with their three main defenders in Kompany, Vertonghen and Alderweireld all missing from the squad.
Just for perspective, Dedryck Boyata was on the bench and came on for him.
To add some perspective: even though the Belgian squad has some great players, they barely have fullbacks with international experience.
We usually play the Tottenham CB's as fullbacks (Alderweireld as a RB and Vertonghen as a LB).
We have Vinny for the right CB position and multiple options for the left CB position. We don't really have anyone but Jason Denayer to replace Kompany.
All experiments our coach tried on the RB position failed miserably (Meunier, Denayer, Boyata, Cavanda,...), that's why he now sticks with Alderweireld on the right back position.
Denayer's a must for next season forget this experience senior players taking up places and then just sitting on the bench on a very big wage. its just not on anymore we must start to bring in the youth for the bench 4 or 5 but in Denayer's case he not really a younger player and had loans at other club so a must for the first team squad
pep will not be under pressure to play the youth with the money he can spend but its what needed at Manchester city a fresh young squad a mix of senior players and youth to build a new team chasing titles for 5 years. just like the back bone of this squad of senior players they was young about 6 seasons ago and now they are the senior players and will give the new young blood a fighting chance in what they have done over the last 6 years can happen to them
we don't need world class players here there and everywhere we need to build a squad and team spirit and pep is the master of that. I don't think we will see a season like this one again and players taking it easy and resting players for so called bigger games in the champions league. we must go BIG in all 3 cups and the league next season no more taking the piss
