Do some people do nothing but watch football on TV?

Why does watching Benfica interest anybody other than a Benfica fan?

I have never heard of him, Nasistic or whatver his name is, Witsel and 90% of the 300 other people we are linked with.

Some would argue that TV is appalling and the likes of Eastenders and Virtue aren't watched and Sport is. I personally stay up all night to watch Boxing, UFC and South American football when possible. I have a missus and kid but my life is totally about sport, its healthy and great entertainment than tv manipulation and gloomy plots. Only Breaking Bad and Soprano oh and The Wire are worth watching.

Witsel is a Fellaini type player, perfect for us. Garcia is a more defensive player whom would take more adapting time. Would prefer Witsel everyday of the week.

Never heard of Nastasic, I spoke to a friend who has who rates him but he scoffed at 20m euro valuation. He reckons he will come good but a big gamble.

javi garcia a smoke screen and Axel witsel the target?? I hope so, i think he's like the belgian Yaya. Would be the signing we need check him out the guy is fucking everwhere in a match and only 23.
Yeah, he's like Yaya in the sense that he can (although more often than Yaya) lack defensive discipline.
How defensive do we need to be? I think he would tear the prem up look at fellaini he is not too disimilar

Mancini will always want a tough defensive minded midfielder I think, that's probably why we're after Garcia instead of Witsel. I'm just worried we'll have the same problem we so often have against stubborn sides, the laborious feel without a real creative midfielder to pull the strings. I've only seen Garcia 2 or 3 times but he struck me a NDJ style midfielder who will break up play keep it simple... but we have Barry and Rodwell who are like that. I keep waiting for someone with more knowledge of Garcia to come in and tell us he has a great passing range. :)

De Rossi would be been annoyingly perfect, the De Rossi saga has been one big horrible tease.

Fair play to all you avid watchers.

Do you watch that many games of the same team that you can form an opinion on whether someone will be a good signing or not?

People are rating this Nastasic chap who plays for Fiorentina? Where do you get access to their games? Benfica..Champions League I can see why a few might have watched him but some of the others play for clubs with no involvement in the CL.

It just amazes me the knowledge people have on world football. I had never heard of kompany, Zabaleta, Kolorov, Savic or De Jong before we signed them. If some of these names turn out as good as Kompany I will be happy!

I think I need to start watching a few more!

He has a much better passing range than de Jong (much more direct with aeril passes) and is more mobile than Barry. In some ways if we're going to play 'the fluid 4' along with Yaya, we need, as you say Mancini wants, a tough defensive midfielder, who remains in his position, and indeed De Rossi would be perfect but he's very much one of a kind in the current game.

Any recent links to witsel? I agree garcia is too defensive.Witsel can put a tackle in and break up play. When Yaya goes to Acon he is the ideal replacement hope Mancini an co see this!!!!

The only thing worth watching on TV is sport & documentaries, just about everything else is plastic shite aimed at morons.

I've totally missed Garcia though. I saw him v rags & he did actually go to sleep Savic style for one of their goals but I've never studied him the same as I have Martinez, DeRossi etc. Always been watching someone else in the games he's played. I too have been impressed by Witsel.

Rep for Garcia seems to be good though.

Im not sure, and I could be wrong so please bare with me..Bluemoon forum if im not mistaken can be accessed abroad. ;)

From what I have seen he has a bit of the NDJ style with a bit of Alonso. Has a good passing range on him and seems to have a good engine so could do a box to box role. Has a good shot and scores quite a few goals as well.

I guess he would start alongside Yaya. Rodwell and Barry rotating in and Razak avaliable for cup games but mainly focusing on the U21 for now.

-----Aguero----
Silva-Tevez-Nasri
--Garcia--Yaya-

Looks an excellent blend of attack and defence there to me. Nasri dropping back into midfield when we don't have the ball with Garcia and Yaya.

Belgian players are very very popular at the moment. Never known so many to be the subject of such transfer activity. Talking of wingers who was the belgian left winger who gave England such a torrid time against them in the friendly. He seemed to outshine Hazzard on the night?

Think that was Dries Mertens

It was and a player i wouldn't mind us taking a punt on as he is also not afraid to get stuck in. Agree he did outshine hazard as did the lad mirallas at everton. Would also cost a bit but seen no mention of any links to him

Well listen to us about Martinez against the masses of people that rate him. He lives on the back of the matches against United and most big games he's gone hiding. He has adoring fans and just been sold for 40m euro so I dunno if we are wrong or them! It's robbery imo and he's hyped over his talents, by a large way too.

I just look at premier league and what makes a good player and then look at what we need. I see Witsel slotting in well and adapting quickly but Garcia not as easily. Garcia likes a bit of time to think, the speed of the prem punishes that. You need to be self assured and away with it. He's more comfortable sitting behind Witsel than going forward and we need someone who will push forward and worry midfields of opposition. Yaya and a.n.other coming at you with Silva and Nasri coming into play. Too often we are reliantbkn Yaya and that worries me no end, imagine him getting a knock?!? Witsel slots in next to Yaya just fine imo. He would be the better purchase, no doubt in my mind. Garcia would please me but I don't think he'd suit for a few months and being as the group stages are around the corner we need a player to slot in asap.

I'm of the opinion a CM is needed more than a CDM. We need someone who will take the reins of Yaya when he departs for ACON. Not keen on a CDM to replace DeJong as he hardly played as it was.

Cheers fella ;)

I would rather have Witsel but Garcia is still a good player. Both would be a nice fit for the Prem.

Vinnie needs to start using his influence in the Belgium camp to get Mancini to sign a few of the Belgians. Their team looks ridiculously good for the future.

kompany has talked about witsel b4,says he would be a star at city if we were to get him!!

Witsel sounds the more sensible out of the two but I think our coaching staff are going for Garcia.

His job is to feed our attackers rather than be an attacker. He's a CM and that's what he'd be bought to play as. Remember it was his first season at Benfica last year and he was a standout player. Not bad aye?
