That was a bit of a dense moment. Felt like he was somewhat playing up to the occasion and went completely over the top with that assessment. Whilst he isn't the brightest, I am certain he was happily playing the fool in front of the other equally worthless pundits; none of them remains on the show.

However, yesterday and despite obviously being an Arsenal fan, he was effusive in his praise for City.

It's bad when I'd rather listen to Merson than Morrison, Dawson, and Sue "I can't gesticulate enough" Smith.

I agree with you there. His jokes were boring and his dramatic voice from around 4.30pm bored me to death. Mind you, I have watched him for years so he may well have toned all that down. I switched off because of his over the top nonsense.
