SSn just said reports in germany say we are interested in him from hamburg, defender they said!

From Wikipeidia:
A player with dual German-Ghanaian nationality, Boateng is a central defender.[1] He has a powerful physique and is versatile enough to play any full back position. He started his career with the youth team of Tennis Borussia Berlin and currently plays for Hamburger SV.

Boateng was with Hertha BSC from 1 July 2002 when he was 13 years old, to 22 August 2007. After emerging from the youth team set-up, he played for the reserves for one season, before winning a call-up to the first team squad on 31 January 2007. He made his debut against Hannover 96 in the AWD-Arena, during week 19[2] of the 2006–07 Bundesliga season. He then became a first team regular, despite being barely 18 years of age.

Boateng has played several times for the German U-16, U-17 and U-19 national teams. On 5 July 2007 he was called up to the German under-19 squad by coach Frank Engel[3] for the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship held in Austria, from 16 July until 27 July.[4]

Boateng was linked with a move to Hamburger SV in the summer of 2007.[5] Because of this, according to the German media, Boateng did not want to sign a five year professional contract with Hertha.[6][7] He moved to Hamburger SV on 22 August 2007 for a fee said to be around €1.1 million.[8]

Re: Jerome Boateng

21 years old, can play anywhere across the defence and has also played regular football with Bige and Vinnie! Encouraging description but if im being honest ive never heard of him. Then again i'd never heard of Vidic when the rags signed him and he turned out alright

Re: Jerome Boateng

He played against us last season in the Uefa didn't he? Good player.

Well, the last two wev'e had from Hamburg haven't been half bad have they?
There's a couple more I'd take from them as well. The young Holland left-winger winger Elia (who played against us for McClaren's FC Twente and had a really good game); the right-winger Pitroipa (destroyed Bridge in the UEFA and scored against us in the pre-season friendly); and the little playmaker Ptrowschi are all really good players

Re: Jerome Boateng

never realised that George is the elder brother, he played for the Dutch yet Jerome is German/Ghanian, odd.

He might have but I dont recall his name. It would be interesting to watch the game back and see how he played

Pitroipa was amazing in the pre season friendly we played against them. Dont really remember him in the uefa cup games.
