I think the issue with this is it directly affects one of the club’s sponsors, by twisting their name to make fun of the club, which isn’t acceptable. If this kind of crap is repeated enough by broadcasters it could ultimately have real commercial impact when we are next looking for a new stadium sponsorship. What puzzles me about this, specifically the club's alleged complaint, is that it seems relatively minor. Same as the one Dan Roan was banned for.
It's certainly unprofessional but is it worse than some of the really nasty, deliberate stuff put out by Delaney, Harris etc? Yet we seem to welcome those people with open arms.
Good point and reminds me that Alan Davies has been absent from social media for a couple of weeks. I wonder if Emirates had a word.I think the issue with this is it directly affects one of the club’s sponsors, by twisting their name to make fun of the club, which isn’t acceptable. Until I represent the premier league and intentionally slag off an honourable football club purely because its owners are from the Middle East and I have ingrained racist thoughts towards said club or maybe my bias for the red tops during my private conversations spilled over into my broadcast, only then shall you bestow the racist word upon myself. You're just making shit up.
Calling someone a racist with no proof whatsoever is ok is it? Given the outrage a slip of the tongue seems to have caused you then i wonder how you'd feel if someone labelled you racist.
Depends on what you interpret as minor..it was not minor to me. It was a petulant remark from a scouser who well knew what he was saying. What puzzles me about this, specifically the club's alleged complaint, is that it seems relatively minor. Same as the one Dan Roan was banned for.

I guess it’s because we don’t want to create media martyrs who would use being banned as a badge of honour.Always find it bizarre that the defamatory stuff from those individuals is tolerated by the club.
