Jim Cassell and Paul Power

paul power 40 years of service ended in one moment

Endings usually last just a moment.

They have all been good for us, but we are now moving on and settles for nothing but the best possible staff members.

If the reports that Paul Power has been sacked are true then I wish him all the very best. I was fortunate to meet Paul many times in the mid 70's and he was a fantastic bloke and always had time for me and my mates.

A lad I worked with had nothing but praise for Power after City let him go when he was 18. The lad had been at City since he was 11 but unfortunately didn't make the grade to stay. The lad was a testament to how he had been nurtured by those around him and Power still kept in contact with him afterwards and secured him a place in the lower league when he thought his footballing career was all but over.

Just what you'd expect from Paul.

According to various people Jim has left the club. If this is true just want to wish him all the best. Responsible for a lot of hope at City when we really had no right to hope for anything other than more mediocrity.
Nothing against Jim Cassells but at the end of it did he really bring anything more than hope?

Yep, hope AND a trophy!!

And plenty of cash when that was the one thing that we needed. Seems like small amounts now but was more than vital back in the day

Its absolutely fucking unbelievable what you read on here! The average Bluemoon poster must be aged about 16 years old!
people have to realise that until 4 years ago we literally didn't have a pot to piss in! And we didn't have pot for over 30+ years!
No money, no resources, no support, no facilities (I rember Franny Lee had Alan Ball & the team training on a local park with people walking their dogs!) no nothing. What they achieved with that 'nothing' was something just short of amazing and people come on here and glibly write things like 'well what did they really achieve?' and astoundingly 'did he bring anything more than hope'!!! It is nothing short of scandalous! I am saddened just how quickly a large section of City fans have cast off their roots and history and forgot where we have come from. We have spent the last 40 years slagging of the Rags claiming we never want to be like them and they are the 'Evil Empire' and 'the darkside' but as soon as the money has arrived we have morphed into them! Everybody already hates us so Christ knows what we will be like in another 5 years time with this mentality and attitude? Sad. really fucking sad!

Jim Cassell and Paul Power have both gone along with 4 more members of staff and 3 academy players to be released.

A blood bath, it would seem. The Spaniards had better be right about all this.

Any ideas who the 3 academy players are? I'm assuming older lads, who are on the wage bill but aren't deemed good enough, as it would be harsh (even for these spaniards) to start releasing 8 year olds
