The academy very much kept our club alive back then, without the SWP sale we'd have been up shit creek. Yes the players weren't ballon d'Or winners but lets not re-write history and pretend they were all crap. Richards, SWP and Joey fucking Barton have all played important parts in the clubs recent past. We need someone to produce top players now but let's not pretend that Cassell was average at his job, he did exactly what was required with very limited resources.
