Heard him yesterday saying he'd done 30 years and he felt it was a good time to leave the Sports show. His decision to go. Will miss him and his references to "date of birth disease" and asking listeners to "wind your neck out and get it off your chest" whenever there was a post match phone-in. I think Jimmy could talk for hours about the 3-3 derby game at Maine Road in 1971 and he had a massive affinity for any of the Mercer/Allison team of the late 60s. Will be missed on the wireless.

Proper sound of my youth listening to Jimmy and Cheesey. I played in a band some years ago with mild success and Jimmy was at one of our gigs, the pinnacle !
